Terms & Conditions

The Hotel Son Matias stipulate various terms and conditions governing the booking of reservations. Please make sure you read the following in its entirety as making a reservation implies acceptance of these conditions.

Types of Person

The Hotel Son Matias Beach is an adults' only hotel and as such does not accept bookings for children. Adults will be classed as persons 16 years of age or over.

Rooms for disabled persons

The hotel's main facilities (bar, restaurant, reception and pool) are all on the ground floor. This, together with wider lift and room doors and a chair lift into the pool, makes access easier for our less mobile guests. We also have three suites adapted for disabled use. For further information regarding disabled adapted rooms, please see FAQ or contact reception.

Arrival/Departure Times

Rooms will generally be available from 14:00 and must be vacated on the day of departure by no later than 12:00. It may be possible to arrange with reception to change the times described above; however, this will depend upon availability and is subject to a small charge.

Late Arrivals

It is the responsibility of the customer to give prior notice to the hotel if arriving after 19:00. The hotel Son Matias Beach reserves the right to consider a booking as cancelled if this condition is not met.

Meal Service

The Hotel Son Matias Beach operates on a Half Board or Bed & Breakfast basis and as such does not offer accommodation with Full Board or All Inclusive arrangements. Half Board signifies breakfast and evening meal and does NOT include drinks or extra services such hire of Minifridge or Safety deposit box. For arrivals, the first service will always be "Dinner" and the last service "Breakfast". If you wish to modify the above, you must inform the hotel in writing before arrival.

The prices indicated online are for the whole stay and as such, include VAT according to the country of destination. Prices DO NOT include Travel Insurance, Flights, Transfers, drinks in the hotel or charges for extra services such as the rental of Minifridge or Safety Deposit Box. The Hotel Son Matias Beach reserves the right to modify prices without prior notice; however, once your reservation is confirmed, the price of the said reservation will remain the same. Please note that the price given in pounds sterling is of an orientation nature only and the actual amount will depend on that charged by your bank on the day the transaction is processed.


Initially, when you make a reservation, you will be asked to pay a deposit chargeable to your credit card (VISA, Mastercard) or via Paypal.

The amount charged will depend on the time between the date the booking is made and your date of arrival. Last minute bookings or "Express bookings" may be asked to pay the full amount to receive confirmation of said reservation.

Once a booking is made you will receive a confirmation voucher via email which you should print out and present upon arrival at the hotel. If you fail to produce said voucher upon check-in, the hotel does not accept liability for any error that might occur with the reservation, including errors in the price paid, number of people staying or services contracted.

Your accommodation

Your accommodation must only be used by those people named on your Confirmation Invoice (or on any Amendment Invoice issued). You are not allowed to share the accommodation or let anyone else stay there. If you wish anyone to join you locally in your room, please speak to a member of our reception staff.

You are responsible for the cost of any damage caused to your room or its contents during your stay, except damage caused by persons not known to you. These charges must be met by you and have to be paid locally.

The hotel manager reserves the right to remove anyone whose behaviour is disruptive or affects the enjoyment of other guests.

VIP Discounts

VIP discount applies only to those guests recognised as VIP members in our system. Bookings made by VIP members for none VIP guests will incur the full web price. This price difference will be applied to the relevant room account after check-in and must be paid before departure.

Group Bookings

Our new online reservation system currently allows you to reserve up to 5 rooms at a time. For group bookings requiring more than 5 rooms, please contact reception via email to ascertain availability and prices.

Cancellations and Amendments

It is important to note that any amendments or cancellations to bookings will incur an administration fee. For cancellations, this fee is in addition to the existing cancellation policy as stated on your accommodation voucher. Please note that the percentage fee is based on the entire cost of the booking, not just the deposit paid.

ON LINE BOOKING - If you need to cancel your reservation, a cancellation fee will be incurred. This fee will depend on the amount of notice given to the hotel before your reserved date of arrival as indicated below.*

DIRECT BOOKINGS - Charge of initial deposit paid.

No refunds will be given should you curtail your stay, should you not arrive on the date according to your confirmed booking or for cancellations made after your arrival date.

Is it posible to book 3 people in a room?

Due to refurbishment during Winter 2017 please note from 2018 it will no longer be possible to book 3 people in a TWIN room.

Maximum occupancy in this room type will be 2 people ONLY.

Our Junior Suites however WILL accommodate up to 3 people.

Bear in mind that Junior Suites can ONLY be booked directly with the hotel either via our website or by calling us on 0034 971 681550.

It is NOT possible to book a Junior Suite with TUI Holidays, nor upgrade with the hotel after having booked with TUI.
