Hotel Son Matías Beach

We have just booked our summer holiday in August 12 with your fantastic hotel, we are really looking forward to returning there, we first visited there on our 30th wedding anniversary time and came to love it, this will be our 4th visit. We met some lovely people whilst we were there, Kate & Malcolm from England whom we hope to meet up with again at the Son Matias,we appreciate the nice touch of Christmas and Birthday cards that are sent,and the excellent service we receive when we are there. So see you all in August.

Have just returned from our twice yearly visit. Everything still to its usual very high standard. It was very nice to meet up with all of our friends both on the staff also visitors like ourselves( often 50 to 60 friends known personally). This alone speaks for itself as to the high standards of the hotel. Cannot be faulted.

Just arrived back from our 25th visit and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were brilliant and made us feel very welcome by their instant recognition and that goes from top management down to the cleaners. We look forward to seeing you all again next June if not before.

"" Amazing hotel And holiday! Our 2nd visit in 2yrs, Arrived the 26th july stayed for 10 nights and we loved it! The hotel itself continues to be fantastic! there's a good variety of high quality food for both breakfast and evening meal.. Staff are always willing to help and support, The hotel is situated directly next to a beautiful beach and is close to local bars restaraunts and shops, Only negative is on our last day we did'nt fly till late and for some strange reason we wer'nt allowed our evening meal, This silly rule needs to be changed to prevent people from finishing their holiday on a negative.

Just returned home after our 18th visit to the Son Matias beach hotel .Another great holiday this year with Debbs/ Andy from Bradford. As usual great wellcome by Fiddela/Clair/Heather/Leo/Susan/Ernest/Javia/. We had a great time as usual although could not spend as much time in hotel because our lovely grand kids came out with their mum/dad staying at sol mirloss.nice to see Mick/Pam again . The hotel was as good as ever !!! so clean with friendly staff ,the food as good as it always is. We have already booked for 2012. The only complaint i have about the comfort of the Hotel is the constant banging of room doors last thing at night and first thing on a morning,!!! some guests seem to slam the heavy doors and it carries along the landings!!! Can't something be done to make them close more quietly.any way can't wait for our next visit It gets better each year.

The 3 Amigos and their wives would like to thanks Andres and the staff for yet another great holiday. A special thanks to Claire for increasing the water volley ball events when it was so hot. Well we could.nt come in march due to ern having a heart attack and stroke ,but we've booked in again in october for 2weeks lets hope we can make it this time as we both love the hotel ,staff, food in fact everything about it see u all soon .

Had a wonderful holiday again in the Son Matias in Feb 2011.What a shame the hotel isn't open in Nov until March next year.Does this mean it will be closed for those months in the following years? A lot of people will be very disappointed

Have spent many holidays in Magaluf/Palm Nova each year we went promised ourselves we would stay at theSon Matias and in Oct 2009 we did. Had a marvelous holiday what a great time we had best hotel I have ever stayed in. Staff were marvelous and entertainment great, was really looking forward to going in Oct 2010 but surgery necessitated a cancellation. The staff were marvelous about it and we transferred booking to May 2011 cannot wait to go.

The 3 Amigos are returning with their wives of course. We are all meeting up on the 18th June 2011. Slightly later this year. Looking forward to another great holiday.

Another 2 weeks at the Son Matias. Superb entertainment with Mark Richie, great food, great staff, Claire & Heather (Entertainments Team) are super, organising quizes, games, & all activities. We will be back, with the Saddo`s in Nov.

Just returned from 10days at Son Matias which was marred by a 17 and a half hours delay to our flight which meant we lost one days holiday,nevertheless we enjoyed the holiday as usual .All the staff were brilliant as always.We are already looking forward to our 22nd visit on the 12th August.

Another excellent fortnight spent with good friends, (The Saddo`s). Great hotel & superb staff. Claire, (Entertainments Manager) is the hub of the place, always smiling & happy. Congratulations to the management and staff on achieving 4 star grading for the hotel.This is no doubt due to the continuing improvements which have been made over the years and also the hard work of everyone concerned which has been a credit to all. We have just returned from a long Easter Weekend break. We have never stayed at the Son Matias before but I have to say it's the best Hotel we have ever stayed in. We had a fabulous view of the the beach and the swimming pool and the room was very comfortable. We always stay in 4 star Hotels but without doubt this is the best food we have ever had. This Hotel is a very friendly place and it's easy to feel comfortable and at ease. All the Staff are very nice,helpful and extremely pleasant. We would stay here again and I am already pricing up a Summer holiday in July. <br /> Well done to all at The Son Matias

we have had yet another fantastic holiday at the son matius,we even bought our friends with us, they have asked if they can come back with us again next year so we have already booked up for two weeks in march 2011,we love the hotel and all the staff are brill nothing is too much trouble for them, we love the new reception area and the refurb on the restaurant and bedrooms ,the hotel is great for guests for have problems getting about ie disable friendly and also for guests who want a relaxing holiday,we must also add that clare the entertainment manager does a brilliant job organising activities during the day and very good shows for the evening, as silver club members we are that satisfied with the hotel food and everything we would recommend this hotel to anyone for a brill holiday so much so we are back again this november for yet another two weeks.

Just returned in February from our 16th visit to The Son Matias. We love it & all the staff! Can't wait for our next visit in May. Its our 2nd home!

We stayed at the hotel for our 5th visit (Silver members now) from 8 October for one week. We would just like to say what an excellent stay we had once again. All the staff do an excellent job and are always friendly and are never to busy to deal with any questions you may have. sorry Danni will not be there next year, she has done an excellent job. Just back from another lovely week at Son Matias.Happy to report entertainment very good this time,and Clare and Dani very welcoming.Sorry to report however that the standard of the food seems to have deteriorated.The soups were watery and bland and as I do not like salad,the main courses were sadly not up to the standard of recent years.My wife however said the salads were excellent and we were both pleased with the desserts.<br /> Hope this report doesn't seem too negative,as this is by far the best hotel we have stayed at in Majorca and we will be Gold VIPs very soon.<br /> See you soon Son Matias,<br /> Neil,Hazel.

our 2nd time at the son matias made very welcome. lot of faces from last year,only downside is they have made a stampede at 9am it was better opening the pool at 8 at letting people filter in at a steady pace.booked again for next year it is a lot cheaper to book direct and book flight seperate with thomsons saved about 400pounds came back 13th september booked for 10 days instead of week looking forward to seeing same people next year especially john,val, jean and derrick.

Our 1st time at this hotel (celebrated our Pearl wedding anniversay, 9th June). Had passed the hotel on numerous occassions and always liked the look of it. Glad that this year we finally booked. It was excellent and we will be back!

Had another great holiday at the Son Matias. Met Dannie for the first time and she was great. Once again Claire made our holiday interesting by providing entertainment to suit all. All the staff at the hotel work very hard and are very helpful and friendly. Once again enjoyed our holiday, this was our 4th visit and have already booked to return in August 09. Hotel, food and staff were all excellant once again, can,t wait to return. Only change i oticed this year was, we have previously had a discount each year when we paid our bill at the end of the holiday, but this was not the case this year, otherwise a great holiday again.

Just got back from a week at Son Matias (our 16th visit).Sorry to find that Bernie has gone,he will be missed because he was a great character.Claire&Danni are still there.They are lovely girls and have lovely characters.Carlos& Keith are both still there.Carlos with his usual quiet manner but still very efficient.Keith is also very efficient and very helpful.In all there seems to be a shortage of staff with the remaining staff working very hard to make your stay enjoyable.Another very good holiday .See you all again on the 18th October.

As usual the staff are brilliant, especially Carlos at the bar, Javier in the resturant and Keith at reception. The weather was fantastic and I`m already looking forward to returning in October. just got back from son matias after a cruise round the med.<br /> on arrival at hotel we recieved our cards and noticed they were plain cards and we were put on floor 6 .<br /> i pointed this out and said this was our 7th time and we were vip guests and i was told that we should have notified hotel that we were arriving.<br /> we were offered room 115 the worst room in hotel has i pointed out.<br /> all details are held in data base but the onus is on the guest to inform hotel.<br /> quite a few people had same problem on arrival.<br /> hotel states it has been refurbished on entering nothing had changed in the reception area or bar area seats were well worn and coming apart when you sat on them in bar area.this could do with change.<br /> you cannot get to bar for people sitting at bar or standing and these people seem to do nothing but talk loudly when people are trying to listen to turn.<br /> turns were fair bit we were only there for 1 week.<br /> rooms have been giving a makeover and are allright.<br /> there seems to be a shortage of staff in all areas.<br /> we are back in september for a week and hope things are better as there seemed to be a different atmosphere than other times. we are thinking what to do for 2009 holidays.

Another lovely week at the hotel.Bit disappointed with the entertainment though,with not much other than Tribute bands,and very disappointed with the lack of dress code in the dining room at night.Maybe I'm getting old.<br /> Neil.

Just returned from a lovely holiday(10days)at Son Matias(our 15th)visit.The presentation by Claire on behalf of the Management for our loyalty to the hotel was a pleasant surprise.The new entertainment Manager Claire has a lovely personality.It was good to see some new acts in the entertainment programme also meeting old friends Alan&Alice,David & Peggy and many more.Last but not least the Staff wonderful as ever.We look forward to seeing you all again in October if not sooner.

we have had a lovely 3 week holiday enjoyed meeting all our friends which book the same time every march it's like a large extended family reunion.claire the entertainments rep. is a breath of fresh air so friendly making the games so much fun, we have already booked for november this year and march next year. need we say more.

Just returned from a three-week holiday at Son Matias. Yet again, it was a perfect stay. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. This rubs off onto the guests who are also friendly. The hotel is very comfortable, especially after the refurbishment. And the food is second to none. We enjoyed it so much; we have booked four weeks for March 2009. Our fourth visit.

In February 2007 the son matias miss placed our passports and we had to return to england with no passports i think it would be a nice gesture by the son matias beach to up grade us to silver vip.

We have just returned from a two week stay at the Son Matias. Thanks to everyone for an excellent holiday. All the staff work so hard so you can enjoy your holiday, nothing is too much trouble for them. Was sad that Toni had left, but Carlas is doing a great job and hope to see his picture on the board next year. My husband and I have just returned from the hotel yesterday and will be booking up again this week for next year.The staff at this hotel deserve an award as the service they provide is great.They are son friendly the rooms are so clean the television you can hie along with the fridge is great with all the chanells.well done and we will be back.

just returned last weekend from 11 night stay at Son Matias - this was our first visit but hopefully not our last. the hotel is excellent with staff second to none for their helpfulness and friendliness, nothing too much trouble. Laura who leads the entertainment is a gem and makes everyone feel at home. the food is the best we have tasted on any of our holidays abroad and cant fault it at all. although we dont always stay in the hotel for the evening entertainment if anyone gets the chance to watch Elvis and his teddy bears we would recommend it. What a brilliant two hours of entertainment !! hope to be back soon and keep up the excellent service !!!

we have been twice now to the son matias and love it.we are going back this year for the new year with family and friends.all the staff from cleaners to managment are all so friendly and the food is wonderfull.entertainment is all so very good.cant wait to be back in december

Hi all, Just returned from another great week at my favourite hotel. I was saddened to hear about the loss of Toni, Helena and Marcos and they were missed. Laura and Kyleigh were great at keeping us all entertained, although I noticed the audiences were a lot smaller than usual, bit the shows were brilliant. As usual the food was fantastic. I think I`ve put on half a stone!!! Hope to see you all soon.

we stayed at Son Matias for 2 years then we had a change, we came back this year and realised we should not have gone elsewhere, we had a fantastic holiday the staff here are so so nice i simply adored bernie our waiter in the restuarant it was a pleasure to see him in the morning and evening,and what can i say about our room maid she was a gem i enjoyed my morning cuddle with her,we have already booked our holiday with you for 2008 so we will look forward to seeing you all again on the 28th march have a good season and keep those smiles we love you all xx Julie

We had such a lovely & fantastic time when we came to this hotel in Nov 2006. It was like our 2nd honeymoon - but only better than the 1st! The food is gorgeous & plenty of it - so well done to the chefs! Also special mentions to Laura (Entertainment Manager) who is doing a great job!<br /> & to Ernest & Keith @ reception who are v.courteous & helpful. We will be back next November & sooner if we win the prize drawer;)

Having returned from the Son Matias on17th November2006 I just had to write and say how much we had enjoyed our stay. The staff were most helpful, the food brilliant, the evening cabarets were very good if a little noisy at times and the whole fortnight was most enjoyable. As a result we have already booked for our fourth visit on 2nd November2007.

We had a fantastic 2 week's stay at your lovely hotel in July 2006. We found the hotel staff very helpful and friendly from the housekeeping through reception and the dining and bar areas. the food was of the highest standard and you certainly know how to keep the brits happy!! it was very refreshing not to have children running around (we love children but just nice to have an adult only holiday) The view from the bedrooms were absolutely superb and if we do come to Palma Nova again we would not think of staying anywhere else. Thanks for some wonderful memories. P.s. We never bought one of Graham Powells cd's and now wish we had so special mention to him, he put on a great show.

My husband and I paid our visit to the Son Matias in August 2005, I could not beleive the view when i opened the balcony doors, it was fantastic, i wish i could wake up to it every morning. i have to say that this is a great Hotel, everything about it is first class, the food is exeptional and so is the friendliness of the staff all around the Hotel, at the time of wriritng this message we are waiting to pay our second visit to the Hotel in August 2006, we tried both Palma Nova & Magaluf night life while we we there last year and enjoyed both, it sgreat to sit and people watch in Magaluf, and the entertaiment is varied in both resorts so there is something for everyone, we are young 48 & 53 yr olds, i'd just like say a big thank you to the staff and are very much looking to our return visit

just got back from our fifth holiday at the son matias and booked up again for 2007.<br /> the hotel did not seem to get as full as normal on a night as in other years could the entertainment have gone off a bit.<br /> laura and leanne are trying to offer a little bit of everything to please people.<br /> every worker at the son matias are very helpful and look after any needs you may have.<br /> the smoking ban is good but you get smokers sitting at the bar and you cannot get served they should be no smoking at the bar only at the telivision side of the bar.

My stay at this hotel was the best holiday my family have had nothing was too much trouble for the staff rooms were excellent and the view from the balcony was breath taking thankyou for making our holiday the best ever.We will return

I have stayed at the son matias beach hotel several times and although the hotel mainly caters for the over 30s onwards i am 22 and always enjoy going there. The food has always been good when i have been and the hotel is spotless. What makes the stay great though is the staff - i cant praise them enough. Toni the bar manager is great and runs a tight ship! Marcos,Helena and Christina are among my favourite members of staff that we visit year on year because they are just so friendly and cant do enough for you - good job guys, keep it up!

Both my husband and I have stayed at the Son Matias on several occasions and have always had a wonderful time. For the past 3 years I have travelled to Son Matias without him! The hotel is so warm and friendly that, despite being a single traveller, I feel completely at home and well looked after. I will be there again at the end of the year - and I can't wait. I would recomend the son matias beach hotel to any one . We have been on two visits so far and intend to go again next year. The hotel is very clean and tidy, the staff are very polite and friendly. The food is good and plentifull. At the end of the day there is always something to entertain you in the entertianments room. If you are a non smoker it is lovely to sit there with no smoke to clog you up.

I have stayed at this hotel twice now and have booked to go again in september I cannot praise this hotel highly enough. The rooms, food, staff, entertainment and facillities are excellent. If you are looking to relax or do what it is you enjoy then this is the perfect place for your well earned holiday.

Been visiting the Son Matias for 18 years. It is very friendly with helpful staff. The food is excellent from breakfast to evening meal with a large variety to suit every taste. A special mention to the maids who dont get enough praise, who keep the hotel imaculate. The position of the hotel is second to none, its simply a stones throw away from the beach. Our first visit to Son Matias was 18 years ago and we have been back more than 15 times since.
